Education

I am Senior Biology Major with a minor in Psychology at Dallas Baptist University. My GPA is a 3.4. Intended graduation, May 2017. I graduated high school in 2013 in the top 10% of my class with a GPA of 3.9. I have research experience at UNT Health Science Center in the Neuroscience and Pharmacology department.

Experience

I work as a Lab Technician for The department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. My job includes preparing for labs, but also tutoring students. I started tutoring in high school; recently I have actively tutored in Genetics, Anatomy and Physiology, and General Biology. My favorite part of my job is the relationships I get to build with the biology students. Tutoring is not only imparting knowledge, but encouraging students who do not feel confident in their skills. I also teach all of my students how to study most effectively. Everyone learns in a different capacity so I will adapt to the students way of learning. I am a member of TriBeta, a national honor society for Biology majors. I have volunteered in a research laboratory at UNT in the Neuroscience and Pharmacology department. I have been published three times in poetry and I received 2nd place in poetry at my university's literary festival. My vocabulary is in the 95th percentile compared to everyone in the United States. The relevant classes I have taken include, two semesters of General Chemistry, a semester of Organic Chemistry, two semesters of Biology, two semesters of Anatomy and Physiology, Genetics, Histology, and Molecular Genetics.

I enjoy languages, and I have learned a few phrases in Chinese and Spanish. I love spending time with my younger cousins, who are 8 and 10. I watch really lame science fiction movies in my spare time, must have 2 stars or lower. I love having movie nights with friends, and of course I love science.
